4 x 5 Photo Prints: The Print Size of Choice for Compact Digital Cameras
These days, everyone has a digital camera-with camera manufacturers continuing to offer a wide range of quality compact digital cameras that provide excellent photo quality in a small package, compact digital cameras are quite common. But the native size that many compact digital cameras capture images in is similar to a photo print size you may not be as familiar with: a 4 x 5 print.
In many cases, when you go to have photos printed from your digital camera you're only presented with standard options, including 4 x 6 photo prints. However, a 4 x 6 photo print changes the aspect ratio of your original image by cutting off parts of your image so that the more rectangular dimensions can be met.
If you want your photo prints to get as close as possible to the images your compact digital camera captured, consider 4 x 5 photo prints. Because 4 x 5 photos are the same size as the image captured by your digital camera, you don't lose any of your image's original composition-it's all there for you in your 4 x 5 print. That means that every blade of grass and ray of sunlight that was frozen in time the moment you took the photo will be presented and printed just as it was on that day.
