Why Choose Color Corrections?

Why Choose Color Corrections?

It’s happened to all of us: we head to our print lab of choice, select some of our favorite photos to print, and then wait for them to arrive. When they do, we open our packages only to be disappointed – the color on the images doesn’t match what we saw on our screens.

Not what you want for your precious memories, right?

The trick is that, in this digital age, how a photo appears on one screen – the back of your camera, your phone, your computer – can look different on another.

To remedy this, we always recommend getting Color Corrections for your photos. To all of the novices out there, Color Corrections are, generally, a service that aims to achieve the most accurate colors in your photos. (It’s worth noting that Color Corrections include more than just color, like density, saturation, and contrast. Even black and white images need Color Corrections!)

When getting Color Corrections, our techs look at each individual image to review (and correct, if needed) aspects like the density, color tones, and saturation.

Whether you’re a seasoned professional or a novice iPhonegrapher, our Color Corrections are guaranteed to make you happy. That’s right – if you don’t like how your color corrected photos turn out, we’ll reprint them for free!

Here are a few more reasons why you should choose Color Corrections:

Our Color Correctors are pros.

For us, Color Corrections have been important from the very beginning. Our team of Color Correctors are the longest tenured employees at Nations Photo Lab. They go through an intensive training program (think: triathlon training, but for color nerds) and run regular audits of each other’s work.

Plus, our Color Correctors don’t believe in automatic, one-size-fits-all corrections; instead, they go through each and every image with precision and care.

Desk setup with monitor

You don’t have a calibrated monitor.

A properly calibrated monitor is the first (and most important!) step in perfect colors and tones for your photos. But, a lot of people don’t have a calibrated monitor nor the software and hardware to do so.

You lack editing software.

Most photographers use Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop to edit their photos to perfection; however, not all own this (often expensive) software.
